Bates signs with Hobart as abroad substitution
New Zealand batter Suzie Bates will play for Hobart Hurricanes for the first time in the WBBL after being signed as an overseas replacement player for the back end of the tournament.
Bates, 37, has played 100 WBBL matches addressing Adelaide Strikers, Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers across eight seasons. The unsurpassed driving ladies' T20I run-scorer was not chosen at the current year's WBBL draft.
Be that as it may, with Britain's players set to be removed from the back finish of the WBBL because of a visit through South Africa, Bates has been endorsed by Storms as a swap for Danni Wyatt-Hodge. Britain's T20 players are normal in South Africa on November 17 which would see Wyatt-Hodge miss the last three rounds of the WBBL in addition to the finals in the event that Typhoons qualify.
Storms senior supervisor Salliann Shafts was excited to add Bates to the crew close by Chloe Tryon and Lizelle Lee.
"Bringing Suzie into our WBBL crew just seemed OK when we saw she was not chosen in the draft, we figured she would be the ideal trade for Danni once we knew her accessibility," Shafts said.
"She gives in excess of 130 rounds of T20I cricket [167] and will give us an accomplished administrator when we lose a person of Danni's capacity in our line-up."
