Christchurch, Wellington, Hamilton to have New Zealand-England Test series


Christchurch, Wellington and Hamilton will host New Zealand's three-match Test series against England in late 2024, with NZC confirming the dates ahead of the rest of the home schedule due to the local interest and expected demand from visiting supporters. The principal Test will start at Hagley Oval on November 28 followed continuously at the Bowl Save from December 6 and the third at Seddon Park from December 14. The matches will be area of the planet Test Title. Britain, who are trained by previous New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum, recently visited for two Tests in February 2023 which were not piece of the WTC with New Zealand winning the second by one race to even out the series. NZC said there had been an "very serious scene portion process" for the Tests which will probably see major areas of strength for an of Britain allies. There were sellout swarms for seven of the eight days of play between New Zealand and Australia last month. "Previously, there's frequently been a great deal of talk in New Zealand about the ubiquity of Test cricket - without that converting into ticket deals or viewership numbers," NZC CEO Scott Weenink said. "The distinction over the past summer, and regarding the impending Tests against Britain, is that the interest is being switched over completely to bums on seats and is driving record viewership numbers. "We're anticipating that going on over the forthcoming summer, and to inviting the Britain group and their fans to the Tests, and obviously all the Kiwi-based allies too." The three matches against Britain are New Zealand's just home Tests next season. They have a broad run abroad before that with an oddball game planned against Afghanistan followed by two matches in Sri Lanka and three in India through September and October. On the FTP New Zealand are set to have only two home Tests in the 2025-26 season with West Indies the one visiting group in the organization. The rest of New Zealand's 2024-25 global home season will be affirmed later in the year with the Australia and Sri Lanka ladies' groups and Sri Lanka and Pakistan men's sides visiting. The Australia ladies' group are because of visit before Christmas for three ODIs. As per the men's FTP, Sri Lanka are planned to play three ODIs and three T20Is from late December 2024 followed by a visit of Pakistan for a further three ODIs and three T20Is in late January.
