CSK Appoints James Foster as Fielding Coach

James Foster, the former England wicketkeeper, has been appointed as the new fielding coach of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of the IPL 2024 season. Foster, a former England wicketkeeper-batter, brings extensive coaching experience to CSK, having worked with England and New Zealand national teams, as well as franchise leagues like the ILT20 and The Hundred. Foster's appointment is part of CSK's reconstruction efforts following a disappointing 2025 season. He'll work closely with head coach Stephen Fleming, batting coach Michael Hussey, and bowling coach Eric Simmons to improve CSK's fielding standards. Five-time IPL champions CSK begin their IPL 2026 campaign on March 30 against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati. They then play Punjab Kings (Apr 3) at home, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (Apr 5) away and Delhi Capitals (Apr 11) at home again. The team finished last in IPL 2025 with only four wins in 14 outings. Sounds like Foster's got a dream team to work with! With his experience at KKR and now CSK, he's definitely got the expertise to take CSK's fielding to the next level. And working with MS Dhoni and Sanju Samson? That's like hitting the jackpot !
