CSK rope in Dian Forrester as Jamie Overton replacement
Chennai Super Kings have brought in South Africa all-rounder Dian Forrester as a replacement for the injured Jamie Overton. The England all-rounder, who took 14 wickets and played in 10 of the first 11 CSK matches this season, was sidelined for the remainder of the tournament with a right thigh injury.
Forrester, who bats with his left hand and bowls with his right, has signed with CSK for INR 75 lakh. He also played for Joburg Super Kings in the 2025-26 edition of the SA20.
In March of this year, the 25-year-old Forrester made his T20I debut in New Zealand. He also played for Rawalpindiz in the PSL 2026 and scored 132 runs in six innings with a strike rate of 171.42. Forrester scored 175 runs at a strike rate of 165.09 in eight innings for JSK. This total includes an unbeaten 80 against MI Cape Town, hitting four fours and five sixes in just 42 deliveries.
He didn't bowl as much in those two tournaments. He took two wickets in 34 balls in the PSL, while in the SA20, he only bowled one over without taking a wicket. He arrives alongside CSK, which is ascending and is currently in fifth place with 12 points. On Friday, May 15, in Lucknow, the Super Kings will take on the Lucknow Super Giants.
