He has previously represented Australia in both T20 Internationals and One Day Internationals, amassing 23 appearances in each format with batting averages just over 30 . His domestic career includes standout performances in the Big Bash League, where he was twice named Player of the Tournament and ranks fifth on the league's all-time run-scoring list . Short is no stranger to English county cricket, having played for Durham in 2019 and Hampshire in 2021 .
