Dale Steyn Leaves Sunrisers Hyderabad before IPL 2025

Previous South Africa quick bowler Dale Steyn won't go on as the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) bowling trainer for IPL 2025. Notwithstanding, he will keep on working with the Sunrisers Eastern Cape establishment in the SA20.
Steyn, who was delegated in the job before the 2022 season, had pulled out of IPL 2024 for individual reasons, with previous New Zealand quick bowler James Franklin supplanting him in the job.
"A major thank you to Sunrisers Hyderabad for my couple of years with them as bowling trainer at the IPL, tragically, I will not be returning for IPL 2025," Steyn said on X (previously Twitter). "Notwithstanding, I will keep on working with Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 here in South Africa. Double cross victors here in SA20, we should attempt make it three in succession."
Steyn was delegated in the job under lead trainer Tom Surly in late 2021. Brian Lara then assumed control over the situation from Surly in 2023, and in front of the 2024 season, Daniel Vettori was declared as the new lead trainer. Under Vettori, SRH made their most memorable last starting around 2018 preceding losing to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Under Steyn, Eastern Cape brought home the initial two SA20 championships, in 2023 and in 2024.
