Bangladesh Cricket Board confirmed on Tuesday (June 9) that Fahim Sinha will replace Aminul Islam as the new chairman of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). During the first meeting of the newly elected Board of Directors led by BCB chairman Tamim Iqbal, the decision was made. While Fahim will act as the chairman of BPL governing council, veteran sports organizer Masuduzzaman will serve as member secretary of the tournament. BPL has been rocked by criticisms over non-payment issues. Additionally, there were allegations of fixing that the newly established governing council must address. BCB president Tamim will be heading the working and facilities committee while he is also expected to lead the BCB cricket operation, much like the way he did during his stint as ad-hoc committee. Meanwhile, BCB announced that they have accepted the resignation of Mir Shakrul Alam Simanto from the BCB Board of Directors, who withdrew citing family commitment.
