Liam Livingstone Signs T20-Exclusive Deal with Lancashire Until 2028

Liam Livingstone has signed a three-year T20-only contract with Lancashire, committing to the Red Rose until the end of the 2028 Vitality Blast. This decision effectively brings his first-class career to a close, as he'll focus on T20 cricket. Liam Livingstone's T20-only deal with Lancashire means he's unlikely to play County Championship cricket this summer. He's prioritizing T20 cricket, including the IPL with Sunrisers Hyderabad (April-May) and The Hundred with London Spirit. His focus is on shorter formats, and first-class cricket takes a backseat. Liam Livingstone had a promising start to his red-ball career, scoring twin hundreds for England Lions against Sri Lanka A in 2016-17. He was also a prolific run-scorer in the County Championship for Lancashire and even made it to England's squad for the New Zealand tour in 2017-18, though he didn't play. Looks like he's shifted focus to T20 cricket now. Liam Livingstone's rise as a white-ball player post-Covid led to IPL and England selections, limiting his red-ball availability. He played his only Test in 2022 but knee-injured himself. Now, he's focusing on T20 cricket, helping Lancashire in the T20 Blast. "I'm looking forward to what we've got to come. It feels like we're building some nice momentum in T20 cricket. We've just fallen at the final hurdle a couple of times over the last few years, so hopefully with a bit more luck and a bit more composure under pressure, we can go a bit further and look to win the trophy. Livingstone, 32, has been a key player for Lancashire, scoring 2,619 runs in T20 cricket and winning the T20 Blast in 2015. He'll continue to play for Lancashire in the T20 Blast and has also signed with London Spirit for The Hundred. Livingstone also recently signed for London Spirit as one of four men's pre-signings ahead of next month's Hundred auction, having spent the last five seasons playing for Birmingham Phoenix.
