Mustafizur Rahman suffers double injury setback, out for a month
Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been ruled out for 4 weeks due to hamstring and knee injuries.
Hamstring + knee issues will keep Mustafizur sidelined for a month. Bangladesh will be without their experienced left-arm quick for upcoming fixtures during that period. He’s a key bowler in both ODIs and T20Is, especially in the death overs. Expected to miss around 4 weeks before he can return to training and selection.
Mustafizur Rahman will miss the rest of Bangladesh’s tour of Zimbabwe due to hamstring and knee injuries and has flown home for rehab.
1st ODI: Bowled 6 overs for 19 runs, batted at No.10 in Bangladesh’s 25-run loss chasing 142 2nd ODI: Missed, replaced by Shoriful Islam Will also miss the 3-match T20I series — no further part in the tour. Recurring knee issue.
This isn’t his first layoff. Mustafizur was already nursing a knee injury earlier this year after returning from the PSL. He missed the first 2 ODIs vs New Zealand in April, then came back for the 3rd and took a five-wicket haul. BCB had also withdrawn his NOC for the remainder of the PSL at that time.
After Bangladesh's tour of Zimbabwe ends on July 19, they are set to tour Australia for two Tests from August 13, with both matches part of the World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle.
