Nat Sciver-Brunt has been appointed as the new captain of the England women's cricket team

Nat Sciver-Brunt has been appointed as the new captain of the England women's cricket team, succeeding Heather Knight following England's disappointing Ashes performance. The 32-year-old all-rounder, currently on maternity leave after the birth of her son with wife and former England seamer Katherine Sciver-Brunt, will lead the team across all formats. Sciver-Brunt has been a pivotal figure in English cricket since her debut in 2013, amassing 259 international appearances with 11 centuries and 181 wickets. She has previously served as vice-captain and has captained England in 12 matches, securing a 9-3 win-loss record. Her appointment marks the beginning of a new era under head coach Charlotte Edwards. The duo's first assignment will be a home series against the West Indies, followed by matches against India, as they prepare for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 in India later this year. Sciver-Brunt expressed pride in her new role, stating her commitment to leading the team to success and empowering her teammates to be the best versions of themselves.
