Punjab fast bowler Lockie Ferguson has been all but ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2025

Yeah, that’s really unfortunate — sounds like Ferguson just can’t catch a break lately. Pulling up mid-over and holding the side of his left leg below the hip usually points to either another hamstring strain or even something like a glute or hip flexor tear, which could easily sideline him for weeks, if not the rest of the season.
And given his recent injury history — calf in late 2024, hamstring in the ILT20, and now this — it feels like his body’s struggling to keep up with the non-stop T20 circuit. For a high-impact, fast bowler like him, that’s always the risk: the workload catches up. Especially frustrating, since he’d just begun to find rhythm again — 5 wickets at 9.17 economy isn’t bad in this IPL climate, where even good bowlers are going for runs.
With PBKS already struggling for consistency, losing a strike bowler like Ferguson makes the road even tougher. I wonder if they’ll look for a replacement or lean more on domestic options now.
