SRH sign 21-year-old Smaran Ravichandran as replacement for Adam Zampa


Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have officially signed Smaran Ravichandran as a replacement for the injured Adam Zampa for the remainder of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Zampa, the Australian leg-spinner, has been ruled out due to a shoulder injury after featuring in two matches this season, where he took two wickets at an economy rate of 11.75 . Smaran Ravichandran, a 21-year-old left-handed batter from Karnataka, joins SRH at his base price of INR 30 lakh . Despite being relatively new to the professional circuit, Smaran has showcased impressive performances across formats : First-Class: Over 500 runs in 7 matches at an average of 64.50, including a double century against Punjab. List A: 433 runs in 10 matches at an average of 72.16, with two centuries. T20: 170 runs in 6 matches at a striking rate of 170, featuring a high score of 57 . SRH is currently placed ninth in the IPL 2025 points table, having secured two wins out of six matches. The team will be looking to Smaran's batting prowess to bolster their lineup as they aim to improve their standings in the upcoming fixtures .
