UAE Women retire out all 10 batters in 163-run win against Qatar
In a rare and strategic move, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) women's cricket team retired out all ten batters during their innings in a T20 World Cup Asian qualifier match against Qatar in Bangkok.
This tactic was employed to expedite the conclusion of their innings due to looming rain threats, as T20 International rules prohibit formal declarations. After reaching 192 for 0 in 16 overs, with Esha Oza scoring an impressive 113 off 55 balls, each subsequent batter took the field and retired without facing a delivery.
This approach ensured the innings concluded promptly, minimizing the risk of a rain-induced no-result. Subsequently, UAE bowled out Qatar for 29 in just 11.1 overs, securing a dominant 163-run victory and maintaining their top position in Group B.
