Vijay Dahiya appointed Gujarat Titans assistant coach for IPL 2026
The Gujarat Titans made the announcement on Wednesday (March 11) that former India wicketkeeper and batsman Vijay Dahiya has been hired as an assistant coach in preparation for the Indian Premier League 2026 season.
Dahiya, who coached the India national cricket team for 19 ODIs and two Tests, brings a lot of experience to the setup. He was a player for Delhi and was a member of the coaching staff that helped Delhi win the Ranji Trophy in the 2007-08 season. He worked as an assistant coach for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League, where they won their first two championships in 2012 and 2014.
The Delhi Capitals hired Dahiya as their primary talent scout in 2019. He then became an assistant coach for the Lucknow Super Giants. Shortly after the champions of 2022 hired former Australia opener Matthew Hayden as batting coach, the Titans have hired him.
Gujarat Titans have established themselves as one of the tournament's more consistent teams since joining the IPL in 2022. They reached the playoffs in three of their first four seasons and won the title in their debut.
