Aamer Kaleem powers Oman to impressive win over Sri Lanka A

Oman rode on the back of 44-year old Aamer Kaleem's 47-ball 80 to record a 5-wicket win over Sri Lanka A in their T20 World Cup 2026 warm-up fixture at the Colombo Cricket Ground. Sri Lanka A found the going tough after electing to bat , even as opener Dulnith Selgara got them off to a breezy start with a 14-ball 20. Oman's bowlers then chipped away at regular intervals and it was Chamindu Wickramasinghe's unbeaten late blitz of 24 that took Sri Lanka A to 145/9. Shah Faisal, Shakeel Ahmed and Jay Odedra bagged two wickets apiece to headline a disciplined bowling effort by Oman. As a result, left-arm spinner Wanuja Sahan (3/22) wreaked havoc and Oman lost wickets frequently, with none of the top five other than Kaleem reaching double figures. The southpaw, who started the game, was the glue that held a difficult chase together. He hit 8 fours and 3 sixes. Vinayak Shukla, the wicketkeeper, provided him with solid support, scoring an unbeaten 39 runs to send his team home with two overs remaining.
