Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer was fined INR 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate during the game against Gujarat Titans at New Chandigarh on Tuesday, March 31. After the first innings lasted nearly two hours, well beyond the required one hour and thirty minutes for the 20th over to begin, Iyer was assessed a fine for a minimum over-rate violation under Article 2.22 of the IPL's Code of Conduct. The Kings conceded 14 extras, including 11 wides and a no-ball, which further lengthened the innings. As a result, in the final over, the Kings also had to deal with having an additional fielder in the inner circle.
