Ashiqur Rahman named Bangladesh fielding coach for Pakistan series
Ashiqur Rahman has been appointed as the interim fielding coach for the upcoming Pakistan series, according to a Bangladesh Cricket Board official on Tuesday.
As a result of regular fielding coach James Pamment's absence from the series due to back pain, the decision was made.
It was informed on Tuesday by BCB cricket operations in-charge Shahriar Nafees that "we have appointed Ashiqur as fielding coach for Pakistan series as Pamment has some back issues." He stated, "Our medical team suggested that Pamment should be doing rehabilitation to recover from the back issues."
He added, "It also gives us the chance to see one of our local coaches in an international setting."
Ashiqur, who attended Tuesday's training session for the Bangladesh national team at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, is a well-known figure among the national cricketers because he has worked closely with extended squads and development groups in the past. He has recently gained attention for his unlikely friendship with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a teenage batting sensation.
Tuesday marked the beginning of Bangladesh and Pakistan's preparations for the upcoming two-match Test series at SBNS. The first Test is scheduled for April 8 in Dhaka, and the second Test is scheduled for April 16 in Chattogram.
