Azizul Hakim Leads Bangladesh's Charge at U19 World Cup
Azizul Hakim will captain Bangladesh's Under-19 cricket team at the ICC Men's Under-19 World Cup 2026, with Zawad Abrar as his deputy. The squad features experienced players like Rizan Hossan, Samiun Basir, and Iqbal Hossain, who've performed well in recent Youth ODIs. Bangladesh has played 28 Youth ODIs in 2025, winning 17, and will face tough opponents India, New Zealand, and the USA in Group B.
Bangladesh's Squad:
Batsmen: Azizul Hakim (c), Zawad Abrar (vc), Rizan Hossan, Kalam Siddiki
All-rounders: Rizan Hossan
Bowlers: Iqbal Hossain, Al Fahad, Samiun Basir
Bangladesh also have in their squad the top three wicket-takers from the same period. That includes fast bowlers Iqbal Hossain and Al Fahad, and left-arm spinner Samiun Basir, with Fahad returning after missing the Under-19 Asia Cup held in December. He is the only change from that side, having replaced Md Sobuj.
Much will depend, however, on Hakim and Abrar. Rizan Hossan and Kalam Siddiki have also been among the runs, and Rifat Beg rounds up the batting stronghold. Hakim and Rizan will also be expected to contribute with the ball, having taken more than 20 wickets each since the last edition.
