Josh Inglis links up with LSG for IPL 2026

Due to conflicting accounts regarding his availability for the current season, Josh Inglis' auction deal became a major topic of discussion. He has now arrived in India. The Australian has actually arrived in Mumbai and will be eligible for selection in Lucknow Super Giants' May 4 matchup with Mumbai Indians. One of the most memorable moments of Punjab Kings' IPL 2025 season was his brutal assault on Jasprit Bumrah. By declining Punjab Kings' retention, Inglis caused controversy by citing personal reasons for limited availability this season. A co-owner of PBKS reacted strongly to the decision, describing the Australian as unprofessional. For a rather modest fee of INR 2.6 million, Inglis joined PBKS. He was purchased by Lucknow Super Giants at the auction for INR 8.6 crore, and subsequent reports suggested that he might arrive earlier than anticipated. That didn't happen, of course, but his arrival now seems to be just right for LSG, who have only won two of their last eight games and are bottom of the table, just like Mumbai Indians, their opponent in Monday night's game at Wankhede Stadium. In two matches, Inglis (31) has bowled Bumrah for 52 runs in 34 deliveries. In particular, he destroyed Bumrah in PBKS' Qualifier 2 victory, scoring 20 runs in one over. LSG should be supported by Inglis in the event of an attack led by Bumrah and the Mumbai Indians. On Saturday evening, the wicketkeeper-batsman is expected to train with the LSG team at the Wankhede Stadium. At a strike rate of over 162, Inglis has scored 278 runs in 11 matches, including one half-century.
