Kishan Jumps to No.2 in T20I Batting, Chasing Abhishek Sharma

Ishan Kishan has jumped to second place in the ICC T20I batting rankings, trailing Abhishek Sharma by just four points. This impressive leap comes after his standout performance in the T20 World Cup 2026, where he scored 317 runs in nine innings, including three half-centuries. Kishan's aggressive batting style and ability to thrive under pressure have earned him this new career-high ranking. Afghanistan's Rashid Khan has dethroned India spinner Varun Chakravarthy to reclaim the top spot in the ICC T20I bowling rankings. Chakravarthy, who was the joint-highest wicket-taker at the T20 World Cup, now ranks second. England's Adil Rashid jumped to fourth place after taking 13 wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah climbed to sixth with 14 wickets. Axar Patel also made a notable jump to 17th place. Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza and India allrounder Hardik Pandya continue to hold onto the top two spots among T20I allrounders. Mitchell Santner, the New Zealand captain, jumped three spots to ninth while England's Will Jacks moved up to 13th. Kishan's rise is particularly notable given his comeback to international cricket after a two-year hiatus. He was recalled to the Indian team and has quickly made an impact, joining Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Suryakumar Yadav as top-ranked Indian batters in the ICC T20I rankings.
