Litton Das likely to return for second ODI in Zimbabwe
According to Bangladesh team physio Bayzedul Islam Khan, Litton Das will not be fit to play the first one-day international in Zimbabwe on July 6, but he should be able to play the next two games on July 9 and 11, respectively.
"Litton Das has been injured in the left calf muscle. It is an injury of Grade I. A similar injury typically requires two to three weeks of recovery. Two weeks have passed already. We are expecting him to recover by the end of the third week," Bayzedul said. "He should be able to play in the second and third ODIs if he can meet all the parameters of our fitness test," the statement reads. "The possibility of him playing in the first ODI is almost nil."
In the meantime, team manager Nafees Iqbal confirmed that Litton would arrive in Zimbabwe on July 1. The remaining team members are already in Zimbabwe.
Litton was cleared to join the ODI squad for the three-match series in Zimbabwe, which will follow the ongoing one-off Test, despite not being 100% fit.
He last played in the ODI series against Australia at home in the middle of June. He missed the three-match T20I series against Australia, which Bangladesh lost 3-0, and the Zimbabwe Test as well.
After missing the third match against Australia with a concussion, captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz has rejoined the ODI squad. Mehidy was earlier rested from the Test side travelling to Zimbabwe.
