Mohammed Siraj rested for Ireland, England T20I tours

The BCCI confirmed on Tuesday (June 9) that Mohammed Siraj has been rested for the upcoming T20I tours to Ireland and England. The decision was made to control Siraj's workload ahead of the national team's busy schedule. His replacement in the 15-man team for both tours is Prasidh Krishna. "Following discussions between the BCCI Medical Team and the team management, Siraj has been advised a period of rest as part of his workload management programme," the BCCI said in a statement. "The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure adequate recovery ahead of a long international season." While Prasidh featured 12 times in the recently-concluded IPL, Siraj played all 17 games for the same franchise, Gujarat Titans, picking up 19 wickets. In the one-off Test that took place in Mullanpur and came to an end on Monday, both players were a part of the Indian Test XI that hammered Afghanistan. Only five Twenty20 matches were played by Prasidh for India in 2023. The fast bowler did not play in the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup earlier this year, despite earning the purple cap in IPL 2025. India will play two T20Is in Ireland on June 26 and 28 prior to the England tour where they will play five T20Is and three ODIs.
