Nahid Rana granted NOC to play in PSL final

Nahid Rana will receive a No-Objection Certificate from the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Wednesday in order to participate in the Pakistan Super League final. Before returning to Bangladesh for the One Day International series against New Zealand, Nahid had played in four Zalmi matches this season. He was initially not cleared for a PSL return due to workload management concerns and Bangladesh's Test commitments. After consulting with its medical and team management units, the BCB later revised its position and approved the fast bowler's participation in the final. The board believes that the 23-year-old's exposure and experience playing in a high-pressure final will be beneficial and help him develop into a frontline Bangladesh fast bowler. In an official statement, the board said the decision was taken after carefully assessing the player's workload, fitness and development needs. "This has been viewed as an important step in the player's continued development," BCB stated in a statement on Wednesday. "Considering the importance of participating in the final of a major global franchise tournament, this has been viewed as an important step." "More importantly, the team management and medical department have cleared him, ensuring that his participation will not have any adverse impact on his fitness, workload management or availability for national duty," it added. Nahid Rana's Peshawar Zalmi have already qualified for the PSL final, scheduled for May 3.
