After hosting Zimbabwe and South Africa in a T20I tri-series, Namibia will play South Africa in a three-match ODI series. All matches will be played at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek. The ODI series begins on September 9 and the T20I tri-series begins on August 28. The final is scheduled for September 6. The tri-series is set to lay the groundwork for the launch of the Africa Cup in 2027, a competition envisioned to provide more African countries with opportunities to compete at the highest level. Further, all profits generated from the tri-series will be donated to the Africa Cricket Association to help the growth of the game across the continent. “We are immensely grateful to Cricket South Africa and Zimbabwe Cricket for their commitment to this series, which reflects the strong partnership and shared vision to grow cricket across the African continent,” said Cricket Namibia CEO Johan Muller. The Cricket World Cup in 2027 will be held jointly in South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe. Cricket South Africa CEO Pholetsi Moseki felt the tri-series would build excitement aheadof the ICC tournament. “We are excited to be part of this white-ball tour, which not only further demonstrates our commitment to strengthening the game in our neighbouring countries, but also builds excitement ahead of next year’s ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, which will be co-hosted by all three nations,” he said.
