Pratika Rawal ruled out of Lord's Test
Pratika Rawal's absence from the historic one-time Test match against England at Lord's has hurt India's chances. In the second one-dayer, Rawal received a cut to her knee, which prevented her from competing in the series finale.
As Rawal's replacement, Priya Punia, who played for India A in England, has been drafted in. "Due to an injury she sustained during the A series, Pratika Rawal has been disqualified from the Test match. She needed stitches after getting a cut on her knee. During a press conference, head coach Amol Muzumdar confirmed that Priya Punia has been added to the squad. She will not be participating in the Test.
Punia does not have any Test caps, despite the fact that Rawal made her Test debut earlier this year against Australia at the WACA. She has, however, scored back-to-back half-centuries against England in the A series, so she is in good form heading into this match.
The 25-year-old's latest injury is another setback after an injury prevented him from playing in the ODI World Cup semifinal and final last year. She made her comeback in the ODIs in Australia, but she didn't play much in the WPL.
