Rehan Ahmed, Adil Rashid Get Green Signal to Join England Squad in India
Rehan Ahmed and Adil Rashid, England's spin duo, have been issued visas to travel to India for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. The ICC has confirmed that visas for the two players have been cleared, paving the way for them to join England's squad. This development comes after a delay in visa processing, which had raised concerns about their availability for the tournament.
In all, there are 42 such applications from the squads of Canada, Netherlands, UAE, England, Italy, Bangladesh (where the former Pakistan legspinner Mushtaq Ahmed is part of the coaching staff) and the USA. Visas, it is believed, have already been issued to players and officials from the Netherlands and Canada, while visa appointments for members of the UAE, USA, Italy, Bangladesh and Canada squads are due to take place early next week
The T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled to begin on February 7, with England's first match against Nepal on February 8 in Mumbai. Ahmed and Rashid are expected to join the team in time for the tournament .
