Rodrigues fined for slow over-rate in loss to GG

In her team's last-over loss to Gujarat Giants at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara on Tuesday (January 27), Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues was fined for slow over-rate. This was Jemimah's first instance of overcharging, and she was fined INR 12 Lakh for it. Rodrigues' team lost to the Giants by three runs last week, dropping some ground in the playoff race after two wins in a row. This came after they conceded 174/9, with 15 coming off the 20th over. They had a shaky start to the chase before a seventh-wicket partnership offered hope and dragged their chase to the very end. Sophie Devine, who was taken to the cleaners in the 17th over, hit back in the 20th by holding her nerves and eking out a slender win for her side. DC's campaign now rests on their final league game on February 1 against UP Warriorz.
