Sadaf Shamas, Gull Feroza century help Pakistan to clinch ODI series
After a record-setting opening stand, Pakistan Women posted their second-highest ODI total of 343/4 to set up a comprehensive and series-clinching 206-run victory over Zimbabwe Women in the second ODI in Karachi. Sadaf Shamas and Gull Feroza each scored centuries. By runs, this is Pakistan's biggest win in WODIs.
Choosing to bat, Pakistan gained immediate control thanks to Shamas and Feroza's massive 189-run opening partnership, which stifled Zimbabwe's initial efforts to draw level. The two of them combined for 23 fours and sixes to deflate the visitors. The scoring rate barely changed after the stand was broken in the 31st over.
Sidra Amin quickly settled in, controlling the middle section and keeping the innings on track with her 59-run stand. The final overs then saw a surge: Fatima Sana and Aliya Riaz attacked right away, turning a strong foundation into a formidable total, Pakistan winning on 343/4.
Zimbabwe's chase never took off, and in the third over, they were 9 for 2. Even though Kelis Ndhlovu and Beloved Biza scored 57 runs to score the third wicket, the required rate was now too high. Pakistan's bowlers kept control all the way through, chipping away at the opposition on a regular basis to stop any sustained resistance.
Fatima Sana led a disciplined effort that bowled Zimbabwe out for 137 in 39 overs, completing a successful pitching performance with 3 for 15 from her six overs.
