Sher Malla Joins Nepal's T20 World Cup Squad, Kushal Malla Left Out

Sher Malla has received his maiden call-up to Nepal's squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup, joining a 15-member team led by Rohit Paudel. Malla, an offspinner, was selected ahead of Kushal Malla, who was part of the T20 World Cup Qualifier in October last year. Sher has been rewarded for a sensational Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2025, in which he finished as the joint-highest wicket-taker with 17 wickets in ten matches at an economy rate of 6.50. He played a critical role in helping Lumbini Lions win the tournament and took home the Emerging-Player-of-the-Tournament award. The squad features a mix of experienced players and young talents, with Sandeep Lamichhane leading the bowling attack. Nepal will face England, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Italy in Group C, with their first match against England on February 8 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
