Texas Super Kings aim to make it three in a row

The Texas Super Kings have kicked off their Major League Cricket season in dominant fashion, chalking up back-to-back wins to secure the second spot on the table. Their opener against MI New York went down to the wire, with Daryl Mitchell holding his nerve and expertly defending eight runs in the final over. In contrast, their clash with the Los Angeles Knight Riders was far more comfortable—posting 181/4 with solid performances throughout the batting lineup, then dismantling the opposition with the ball. Noor Ahmad shone with a four-wicket burst, while Calvin Savage, the star of the first game, didn’t even need to bat. Next on the schedule: the Seattle Orcas. Another win would make it three in a row for TSK and bring them level with current leaders, the San Francisco Unicorns. The Orcas, however, are struggling. Sitting at the bottom after a humbling five-wicket defeat to Washington Freedom, their batting was exposed on a lively pitch. They stumbled to 146, with Sikandar Raza's labored 16 from 26 balls symbolizing their struggles. Freedom made light work of the chase, getting the job done in just 13.3 overs. Captain Heinrich Klaasen will need his side to step up—especially with the bat—if they hope to dent a Super Kings attack that has already picked up 18 out of a possible 20 wickets.
