In the Vitality Blast at Hove, Leicestershire Foxes defeated Sussex Sharks by four wickets, aided by Ashton Turner's unbeaten half-century, his 20th of his T20 career. Both teams had only won once in their previous five games, and despite Harrison Ward and Dan Hughes's opening stand of 98 in nine overs, Sussex lost another good start when they were bowled out for 179. In the first half of their response, Leicestershire consistently lost wickets, and in the 13th over, the score was 118 for 5. But Turner and skipper Ben Green plundered 41 from 20 balls to break the back of the chase and Turner sealed victory with 14 deliveries to spare. His 57 runs off 28 balls were his second in the competition this season, with six fours and three sixes. It was a familiar tale of missed opportunities for Sussex. For the second game running Sussex had not batted through their 20 overs and Leicestershire always had the chase under control. On another disappointing night for the hosts, left-armer Sean Hunt took two wickets in his T20 debut but also bowled five wides and two no balls.
