UP Warriorz rope in Amy Jones as replacement for Phoebe Litchfield
Amy Jones has been selected by UP Warriorz to serve as Phoebe Litchfield's injury replacement for the remainder of the Women's Premier League 2026.
Litchfield, who has been one of UPW's standout performers this season, scored 243 runs in six matches before being ruled out of the tournament due to injury. Her absence comes as a huge blow for UPW as the league heads into its business end.
Despite having not played in the WPL so far, Jones, the experienced England wicketkeeper-batter, brings a wealth of international exposure, having featured in 125 T20Is and scored 1,666 runs in the format. She joins the UP Warriorz for a fee of INR 50 lakh and is expected to enhance the batting order and wicketkeeping options for the remainder of the season with her versatility and depth.
With just four points from six games, the Warriorz are last in the points table. To have the best chance of qualification, UPW must win both remaining games and reach eight points. On January 29, they take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and on February 1, they play Delhi Capitals in their final league match.
