Warwickshire sign Manav Suthar for two County games

India's latest Test debutant Manav Suthar has been signed up by Warwickshire to feature in the next two rounds of the ongoing County Championship season. From June 12 through the following week, Suthar will be available to participate in Warwickshire's matches against Yorkshire in Scarborough and Somerset in Taunton. In the one-off match against Afghanistan in Mullanpur, Suthar made his Test debut just a few days ago. He took a wicket in his first over and finished the innings with six wickets. He finished the match with seven wickets when he took another in the second. Suthar earned his place in the side on the basis of strong domestic performances for Rajasthan, having picked 129 wickets in 29 First-Class matches. "We're delighted to welcome Manav to the Bears, at a really exciting time for the team. "Manav will add a new dimension to our bowling attack, and we've already played some good red-ball cricket this season," stated Warwickshire's Performance Director James Thomas. It's going to be great to have him around the group because his selection to India's Test team last week demonstrates how highly regarded he is in India. "I'm incredibly excited to be joining Warwickshire for the next two County Championship games," Suthar said about the opportunity. The team have started the season very well, so I'm hoping that I can play a part in helping them in their push for the title." Warwickshire are currently fourth on the Division One points table, with two wins and two draws in six fixtures.
