Gus Atkinson ruled out of WI ODIs with hamstring strain

England fast bowler Gus Atkinson has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match One Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies due to a right hamstring strain. The injury was sustained during England's recent Test victory over Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge, where Atkinson managed only three overs on the final day before experiencing discomfort.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed that no replacement will be added to the ODI squad. Atkinson will undergo rehabilitation under the supervision of the ECB medical team.
Despite this setback, Atkinson is expected to be fit for the five-match Test series against India, commencing on June 20 at Headingley.
This marks the second injury blow to England's pace attack ahead of the West Indies series, with Jofra Archer already ruled out due to a thumb injury sustained during the Indian Premier League. Left-arm seamer Luke Wood has been called up as Archer's replacement.
The ODI series against the West Indies begins on May 29 at Edgbaston, followed by matches in Cardiff and The Oval. This series also marks Harry Brook's debut as England's white-ball captain.
